After you and your kids have enjoyed a seasonal sport, such as baseball, basketball, golf or hockey, you may wonder what to do with your random gear and equipment. Fortunately, there are several options available to you whether you want to keep the items or you want to get rid of them.
Donate the Items
If you don't think that you will get much more use out of your used sports equipment, or if you anticipate that your children will need new equipment or bigger sizes next year, consider donating your supplies. Many underprivileged families will appreciate having the opportunity to take part in a new hobby without a large up-front cost. You can give the items to an established organization, such as The Salvation Army or Goodwill, or you can check your area for specific charities that help provide sports equipment to low-income families. Some leagues have their own event. Players arrive on their final game day or end of season party with their used equipment in tow. If your league doesn't do this, consider setting up your own event.
