Five Fun Accessories for Your Kid’s Room

From Belclaire House Blog

Kids love the opportunity to express themselves. What better way to bring out their creative side than to let them choose some fun accessories for their bedroom? You can help make their choices fun and functional by using some of these ideas in your kid’s bedroom. Here are five fun ways to accessorize your child’s room:

Area Rugs

Even if your child’s room is already carpeted, using area rugs can be a fun way to accessorize. It’s also a great way to organize space or add a little extra color to their room. If your kids are young and have a favorite cartoon or movie character, look for an area rug with that character. Older kids can have a little more fun with different patterns or bright colors.

Window Accessories

Everything from curtains, blinds or sheers can add some personality to your child’s room. This accent windows blog can give you some great ideas when it comes to different options for your windows. Making the window a focal point of your child’s room can be a very unique way to accessorize.

Simply changing out a light fixture or adding an inexpensive lamp can be a cool way to change up the décor in your kid’s rooms. This works for young children and teenagers alike. Try hanging a Chinese lantern in place of a light fixture. Look for quirky lamps or patterned lampshades to add style.

Get creative with shelving to accessorize in your child’s room. Not only is this a great way to display some of your child’s favorites, from toys to pieces of art, but it’s also an effective way to add more storage. Paint them a fun color, or cover them with some fabric to translate your child’s style on to their walls. Another idea is to use chalkboard paint to make them dual-purpose. Now your kids can use them and change up the look whenever they feel like it.

Fun Seating

Kids love to have friends come over and hang out in their room. Make hanging out more fun and comfortable with some big seating. Transform large pillows into seating, and cover them with any kind of fabric that you choose. Floor pillows can also be easily hid away under beds to make more floor space.

No matter how you choose to accessorize your child’s room, let them join the fun. Not only will it feel more like their own space, but it will get their creative minds moving.
