Black Numeral Dresser- Diddle dumpling Blog
Sarah from Diddle Dumpling painted this outstanding black numeral dresser you see above. The dresser was spotted at a thrift store just before the family's move. She started by removing the vintage wood pulls that were built onto the drawer face themselves. One was damaged, so all of them came off, which in my opinion instantly updated the look of the dresser.
Sarah explained in the past she would stain the letters after the decal was removed. Instead with this dresser, she stained the wood and then applied the letter decal.
When you approach this project for yourself, stain a small section of the drawer and let it fully dry. While the drawers were in the process of drying, she painted the body of the dresser with black DIY chalk paint.
When the dresser was fully painted, Sarah distressed the edges of the drawers and drilled new holes for rope drawer pulls and wiped the whole thing down with satin polyurethane.

Consider painting a dresser a light green, or hunter green to match this beautiful 2 foot, by 2 foot Colorado State Decal. Color match the green inside the decal and paint your dresser in a high gloss green to match. Simply cut the decal to fit the drawers. This works nicely with a dresser that has seamless edges such as this one.
