Check out this picture credited to Waterleaf Interiors. They have positioned two platform beds along a wall, with drawers for storage. Not only does it look fantastic, but this design crew were able to get two kids into one room with space to spare! I have had my eye on a company called Prepac on Amazon. They sell some lovely twin, double, and queen size beds which also double as storage. Their platform beds are well equipped with storage drawers under the bed which work perfectly for tight rooms with very little space. I know all too well trying to get a dresser, a bed and a chair into a room, let alone a desk. Often times a desk is wishful thinking for most parents as kids rooms are made so much MUCH smaller than master bedrooms. These beds by Prepac takes away the need for a large dresser which then open up the options for a small sitting area and an ottoman, or a desk. The queen size in black is perfect for that teenager who wants a bed that looks sophisticated while accommodating their ever growing clothing collections. With 12 drawers how can you go wrong with it? It is like having two large dressers in the room!
For a young woman, the bed can easily be painted and distressed showing the black under the paint. Paint it a cottage color for an extra special romantic look for your daughter who is growing up and wants something special. Paint it a creamy white and add some decorative appliques which could dress up the foot board. It easily could be transformed into something very feminine, while at the same time being very functional.
This bed has a lovely look to it that you can easily combine anything above it. Add a mirror or an over-sized painting for that teenager or a fun over-sized poster or layered shelves for that growing child. Add a nice fabric french canopy for a girl. The options are endless. I ABSOLUTELY love the 6 drawer Twin bed in Cherry for a young child. The cherry is a softer color allowing you to easily match a dresser. This bed can be pushed over towards a wall instead of having to float this bed in the middle of room to get at both sides because only one side has drawers. This bed is incredibly attractive, while being functional. This bed will save you LOTS of space in a child's room allowing you to purchase asmall round play table, or child's couch for an additional play area.
Prepac does not have a twin bed with drawers on each side, because the space in a twin wouldn't allow drawers on both sides. ALTHOUGH, if you move up to a FULL size, you can graduate up to 12 drawers without committing to the amount of room a queen size bed takes. The black is very impressive. This bed allows you to use up more of the vertical space than the floor space.
