If you are a creative person, or if you repair different things at home, this can be a great option. You can disassemble the mattress and use the parts. There are lots of parts in the mattress that can be reusable. Especially to someone creative or a handyman.
Or, you can give the mattress to someone that you know can disassemble the mattress and use the parts as well. The springs alone in the mattress is really great to use for other projects.
Give to pet rescue centers
Another great option, one that not many people think about, is to give it to a pet rescue center. The mattress might not be good enough for humans anymore, but it will be heaven for a dog or cat that needs to sleep in a cold cage at night. Having something warm to sleep on, might just be a lifesaver for them.
We tend to forget about pet rescue centers and that the pets are mostly sleeping outside in cages. And, that it can get really cold during the winter months. With an old mattress, that isn’t of use to you, will give warmth to a pet that is cold and freezing outside.
